The Armenian Association of Social Workers invites applications for the positions of Social Work Supervisors, Social Workers, Psychologists and Drivers to work with displaced families in the communities of Goris, Vayk, Abovyan, Ashtarak, Martuni, and Masis (including nearby settlements) with forcibly displaced families from NK.

The Armenian Association of Social Workers is seeking Social Work Supervisors, Social Workers, Psychologists and Drivers to join our team and work with forcibly displaced families from Artsakh in the communities of Goris, Vayk, Abovyan, Ashtarak, Martuni, and Masis, including surrounding settlements.

The positions involve providing regular psychosocial support to displaced families residing in the above-mentioned communities through both outreach (mobile) and center-based service delivery formats.

Key Responsibilities

Social Work Supervisors

  • Coordinate and oversee the work of the professional team, providing individual and group supervision to ensure professional development and service quality improvement.
  • Ensure that case assessment, planning, intervention, and closure processes comply with established methodologies.
  • Organize regular case review sessions to analyze complex cases, support decision-making, and develop effective solutions.
  • Monitor the quality of service provision, ensuring adherence to professional standards and ethical principles.
  • Promote and uphold ethical standards in social work, including addressing ethical dilemmas.
  • Oversee the completeness and quality of case documentation (assessments, plans, reports, social histories, etc.).
  • Facilitate inter-agency collaboration with state and local self-government bodies within the community.

Social Workers

  • Conduct assessments of families’ needs and resources (environmental, behavioral, emotional, and social factors).
  • Carry out home visits for assessment, counseling, and ongoing follow-up.
  • Plan and implement interventions with families.
  • Support families’ integration into their host communities.
  • Identify vulnerable and at-risk individuals and families.
  • Provide social counseling services.
  • Establish and facilitate self-help and mutual support groups.
  • Maintain records, databases, and reports, ensuring comprehensive case documentation.
  • Engage and coordinate volunteers.
  • Collaborate closely with local governmental and non-governmental service providers.
  • Work in close coordination with the project team and organizational staff.
  • Participate in capacity-building trainings and meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Psychologists

  • Provide individual and group psychological counseling.
  • Assess the psychological well-being of displaced individuals using appropriate tools and scales.
  • Plan and deliver psychological counseling and therapeutic interventions.
  • Conduct counseling and therapy sessions.
  • Establish and facilitate self-help and mutual support groups.
  • Maintain records, databases, and reports.
  • Collaborate closely with the project team and organizational staff.
  • Participate in capacity-building trainings and meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Drivers

  • Ensuring the safe and timely transportation of the Center’s staff and, when necessary, beneficiaries;
  • Carrying out official trips in accordance with the approved schedule and assignments;
  • Maintaining the vehicle in good technical and clean condition;
  • Keeping records of trips (route sheets, fuel consumption, etc.);
  • Complying with traffic regulations and ensuring safe driving;
  • Supporting the implementation of outreach services, including accompanying social workers during home visits;
  • Adhering to work discipline, confidentiality, and ethical standards when interacting with beneficiaries.

The organization will not provide a separate vehicle; the driver will perform their duties using their own vehicle.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in computer use and modern technical tools
  • High level of dedication and ability to work in a flexible environment
  • Ability to learn quickly and work under tight deadlines
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to respond effectively in challenging situations

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant professional education in the field
  • Work experience in the social sector
  • Experience in the NGO sector will be considered an asset
  • Experience in social work in Artsakh or with Artsakh people will be considered an asset
