The Armenian Association of Social Workers (AASW) invites qualified specialists to participate in the tender AASW-RISE-002/26 – Lot 1 for the provision of psychological services for residents of the Maralik Social House, within the framework of the project “RISE – Armenia: Rehabilitation, Social Inclusion and Empowerment of Displaced and Vulnerable Population.”
Position: Psychologist (Maralik Social House)
Project Title: “RISE – Armenia: Rehabilitation, Social Inclusion and Empowerment of Displaced and Vulnerable Population.”
Project Objective: To improve the social protection system in Armenia for vulnerable populations, including those displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, through strengthening the capacities of social workers and ensuring access to new social services, including patronage, social care, and socio-rehabilitation services.
Project Duration: November 2024 – November 2027

1. Scope and Purpose
The psychological intervention aims to contribute to improving the mental health, emotional stability, and social adaptation of residents of the social house through the provision of individual and group psychological support.
The psychologist’s main duties include assessing beneficiaries’ psychological condition, early identification of emotional and behavioral difficulties, providing support in overcoming psychosocial challenges, and organizing group activities that promote social inclusion and improve the quality of life of beneficiaries.
The psychologist must ensure confidentiality of beneficiary information, respect the dignity of beneficiaries, consider their individual characteristics, and collaborate with family members and other professionals supporting the beneficiary.
2. General Requirements
Format of Psychological Services:
Psychological services will be provided within the premises of the social house through individual consultations and group sessions.
Service Delivery Approach:
The psychologist will work with residents of the social house by assessing their psychological and emotional condition. Based on the assessment results, necessary interventions and support mechanisms will be planned jointly with the professional team (social worker, nurse, and other specialists).
Interventions implemented with beneficiaries will be regularly reviewed and discussed during team meetings at least once per month.
Psychological services should be delivered in a way that promotes the preservation of mental health, strengthens emotional stability, and supports the development of social and communication skills among beneficiaries.
3. Duties and Responsibilities of the Psychologist
3.1 Psychological Assessment and Counseling
Conduct initial and periodic psychological assessments of residents of the social house.
Assess beneficiaries’ cognitive abilities and mental health conditions.
Provide individual psychological counseling to support beneficiaries in overcoming emotional and psychological difficulties.
3.2 Provision of Psychosocial Support
Work with beneficiaries experiencing conflict situations, violence-related experiences, grief and loss, depressive symptoms, reduced motivation, and other psychological challenges.
Support beneficiaries in maintaining emotional stability and improving social adaptation.
3.3 Behavioral Assessment and Risk Management
Work with beneficiaries presenting behavioral difficulties.
Assess potential risks, including the likelihood of self-harm or aggressive behavior.
When necessary, recommend appropriate interventions or referrals to specialized services.
3.4 Organization of Group Activities
Organize and facilitate group meetings and discussions with residents of the social house on psychosocial topics.
Promote mutual support, communication, and the development of social skills among beneficiaries.
3.5 Other Responsibilities
Maintain regular documentation of work carried out with beneficiaries.
Participate in team meetings and case discussions.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and ethical principles related to beneficiary protection.
4. Minimum Qualification Requirements
Higher education in Psychology.
At least 3 years of professional experience in psychological counseling or psychosocial support.
At least 2 years of experience working with vulnerable groups (such as older persons, persons with disabilities, displaced persons, graduates of orphanages, or children).
