This program aims to develop the capabilities of the workforce in Artsakh through effective implementation of the social services system, as well as providing necessary support to overcome stress among social, educational, and health professionals.
Social workers will participate in training which provides them with the professional skills necessary to work in the traumatic situations they will face in areas of warfare. Together with government, Diaspora, and international donor support, they will assist the population in rediscovering their lives and building plans for new futures. These social workers will be instrumental in the socioeconomic changes that are necessary to keep Artsakh alive.
SOCIAL SERVICE WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
With our activities in Artsakh, we aim to contribute to the formation and development of the social service workforce. In particular, AASW introduced the 9-month introductory course for the training of social work paraprofessionals, as well as established two master's programs in the field of social work at Artsakh State University and Mesrop Mashtots University.
In general, more than 150 students participated in the course, who, along with the professional training, were also included in the social service staff.
ESTABLISHMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES
In the framework of the project, the Association aims to make social services available in all communities of Artsakh. In the framework of this direction, regional Psycho-Social Centers will be established as key-hubs to response to the psycho-social needs of the population.
Parallel to this, work is being done to establish child and family-friendly corners in small settlements and communities, where mobile teams will support children and families.
