The Armenian Association of Social Workers (AASW), within the framework of the project “RISE – Armenia: Rehabilitation, Social Inclusion and Empowerment of Displaced and Vulnerable Population,” announces a call for applications for the formation of the professional team of the Ashtarak Multifunctional Social Care Service.

Position: Social Worker (Ashtarak Multifunctional Social Care Service)
Project Title: “RISE – Armenia: Rehabilitation, Social Inclusion and Empowerment of Displaced and Vulnerable Population.”
Project Objective: To improve the social protection system in Armenia for vulnerable populations, including those displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, through strengthening the capacities of social workers and ensuring access to new social services, including patronage, social care, and socio-rehabilitation services.
Project Duration: November 2024 – November 2027

1. Scope and Purpose
To provide professional psychological support to beneficiaries within both day-care and mobile (outreach/home-based) services, contributing to psychosocial stabilization, trauma recovery, emotional resilience, and overall well-being.
2. Duties and Responsibilities of the Psychologist
2.1 Psychological Assessment
- Conduct initial and in-depth psychological assessments of displaced and local vulnerable individuals and families.
- Identify trauma-related symptoms, stress reactions, emotional and behavioral difficulties.
- Provide professional psychological conclusions when required.
- Contribute to the development of Individual Intervention Plans from a psychosocial perspective.
2.2 Individual Psychological Support
- Provide individual psychological counseling sessions to children and adults.
- Apply trauma-informed and resilience-based approaches.
- Support beneficiaries in coping with stress, anxiety, grief, and displacement-related challenges.
- Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
2.3 Group Interventions and Psychoeducation
- Conduct group therapeutic sessions for adults and children.
- Facilitate relaxation and stress management sessions.
- Organize psychosocial support groups.
- Deliver psychoeducational sessions on coping strategies, emotional regulation, and resilience-building.
2.4 Capacity Building and Psychological First Aid
- Deliver training sessions for professionals working with displaced and local vulnerable populations on:
- Psychological First Aid (PFA)
- Stress management
- Basic trauma-informed approaches
- Support multidisciplinary team members in managing complex psychosocial cases.
2.5 Multidisciplinary Cooperation
- Collaborate closely with social workers, nurse, family mentor, and social skills educator.
- Participate in case conferences and multidisciplinary meetings.
- Provide professional input to case discussions and intervention planning.
2.6 Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of psychological sessions.
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards and data protection principles.
- Submit periodic reports to the Service Supervisor.
- Contribute to monitoring and evaluation processes.
2.7 Other Responsibilities
- Participate in professional capacity building activities and supervision sessions.
- Support donor visits and evaluation processes when required.
- Perform other duties within the scope of the position.
3. Minimum Qualification Requirements
- Higher education in Psychology (Master’s degree preferred).
- At least 3 years of professional experience in psychological counseling.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations, including displaced persons, children, and families.
- Training in trauma-informed care and/or Psychological First Aid is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Computer literacy (MS Office and online platforms).
