Call for the selection of the Social Skills Educator of the Professional Team of the Ashtarak Multifunctional Social Care Service.

The Armenian Association of Social Workers (AASW), within the framework of the project “RISE – Armenia: Rehabilitation, Social Inclusion and Empowerment of Displaced and Vulnerable Population,” announces a call for applications for the formation of the professional team of the Ashtarak Multifunctional Social Care Service.

Tender Title: AASW-RISE-002/26 – Lot 7

Position: Social Skills Educator (Ashtarak Multifunctional Social Care Service)

Project Title: “RISE – Armenia: Rehabilitation, Social Inclusion and Empowerment of Displaced and Vulnerable Population.”

Project Objective: To improve the social protection system in Armenia for vulnerable populations, including those displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, through strengthening the capacities of social workers and ensuring access to new social services, including patronage, social care, and socio-rehabilitation services.

Project Duration: November 2024 – November 2027

Reports to: Project Manager

Duty Station within the Project: Ashtarak Consolidated Community

Start Date: 15/03/2026

End Date: 15/05/2026

1. Scope and Purpose

 To ensure the development of social, communication, and independent living skills among children and youth, contributing to their social inclusion, educational and community participation, as well as the formation of independent living capacities.

Special attention is given to the inclusive development of children and youth with disabilities.

2. Duties and Responsibilities

2.1  Implementation of Social Skills Development Programs

  • Develop and implement group-based social skills development programs.
  • Facilitate the development of communication, cooperation, and teamwork skills.
  • Promote peaceful conflict resolution skills.
  • Strengthen self-expression and self-confidence.
  • Foster a culture of social responsibility and respect for rules.

2.2   Development of Independent Living and Practical Skills

  • Teach self-care skills (personal hygiene, time management).
  • Develop basic financial literacy skills (budgeting, shopping).
  • Support educational and vocational orientation (for youth).
  • Organize practical exercises using real-life simulation methods.

2.3 Inclusive Work with Children and Youth with Disabilities

  • Ensure adaptation of programs according to individual needs.
  • Use visual, play-based, and experiential methods.
  • Cooperate with families and other professionals to ensure an inclusive approach.
  • Promote self-advocacy and self-confidence.
  • Support reduction of social isolation.

2.4 Group and Community Activities

  • Organize interactive group sessions, games, and team-building activities.
  • Organize community engagement events.
  • Promote participation of children and youth in community life.

2.5  Multidisciplinary Cooperation

  • Collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in case discussions.
  • Provide observations regarding the social progress of children and youth.

2.6 Documentation and Accountability

  • Maintain records of group and individual activities.
  • Document progress and challenges.
  • Submit periodic reports to the Service Supervisor.
  • Ensure confidentiality of beneficiaries’ data.

2.7 Other Responsibilities

  • Participate in professional capacity building activities and team sessions.
  • Support donor visits and evaluation processes when required.
  • Perform other duties within the scope of the position.

 3. Minimum Qualification Requirements

  • Higher education in pedagogy, social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience working with children and/or youth.
  • Experience working with children with disabilities is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of group work and non-formal education methods.
  • Strong creative and communication skills.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office and online platforms)
