Vacancy Announcement: Art Therapist for Martuni Child Daycare Center

The Armenian Association of Social Workers (AASW) announces a competitive selection process for the position of Art Therapist for the Martuni Child Daycare Center (S02-AASW-26).

1. General Project Information

The recruitment of the Art Therapist is conducted within the framework of the "Strong Civil Society for Empowered Child Protection" project. The project is led by World Vision Germany and World Vision Armenia Child Protection Foundation, in partnership with the Child Protection Network, the Armenian Association of Social Workers, the Armavir Development Center, and the "Tahuys" NGO. The project is financially supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The Martuni Child Daycare Center aims to ensure the protection, psychosocial support, and social inclusion of vulnerable children through the application of creative therapy methods.

2. Objective of the Assignment

To recruit a qualified Art Therapist to:

  • Improve the emotional well-being of children and foster self-expression.

  • Assist in overcoming traumatic experiences and building resilience.

  • Support youth in career orientation and socialization.

3. Key Roles and Responsibilities

3.1. Therapeutic and Developmental Work

  • Conduct assessments of children's development and psychological well-being using art therapy tools.

  • Develop and facilitate individual and group art therapy sessions.

  • Support children’s self-expression, self-confidence, and social skills development.

  • Teach resilience skills and coping strategies to help children overcome difficult and traumatic experiences.

3.2. Planning and Professional Support

  • Formulate individual development plans for children (particularly for complex cases).

  • Support youth in career orientation through the application of creative methods.

  • Design specialized art therapy programs tailored to the needs of different age groups.

3.3. Collaboration and Networking

  • Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team (social workers, psychologists) and parents to maximize intervention effectiveness.

  • Establish networks with community structures to create skill-building and experiential exchange opportunities for youth.

3.4. Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain detailed documentation of the activities performed and individual case progress.

  • Submit monthly reports on the activities conducted.

4. Required Qualifications

  • Higher education in Psychology, Fine Arts, or a related field.

  • At least 1–2 years of experience working with children or adolescents.

  • Practical knowledge of various art therapy techniques (drawing, pottery, music, etc.).

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

  • Native/fluent proficiency in the Armenian language.

5. Working Conditions

  • Location: Child Daycare Center, Martuni City, Armenia

  • Format: Contractual basis

  • Duration: Project-based (initially 12 months, with a possibility of extension)
