Announcement of Recruitment for the Position of Psychologist at the Martuni Children’s Day Center

The Armenian Association of Social Workers announces a competition for the recruitment of a Psychologist for the Martuni Children’s Day Center (S02-AASW-25).
1. General Information about the Program
The recruitment of the Psychologist is planned within the framework of the project “Strong Civil Society for Empowered Child Protection” Program, implemented under the leadership of World Vision Germany and World Vision Armenia in cooperation with the Child Protection Network, Armenian Association of Social Workers, Armavir Development Center, and Tahuis, with financial support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
The Martuni Children’s Day Center is operated by the Armenian Association of Social Workers and aims to ensure the protection, psychosocial support, social inclusion, and developmental opportunities of children in vulnerable situations.
2. Purpose of the Assignment
To recruit a qualified Psychologist to:

Provide individual and group psychological support to children attending the Martuni Children’s Day Center,
-
Implement psychosocial interventions,
-
Participate in case management processes,
-
Strengthen child protection mechanisms.
3. Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Psychologist shall:
3.1. Psychological Assessment and Support
-
Conduct initial and in-depth psychological assessments of children,
-
Develop individualized support plans,
-
Provide individual counseling,
-
Facilitate group psychological sessions (psychosocial groups, skills development, emotional regulation, etc.),
-
Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
3.2. Case Management and Intersectoral Cooperation
-
Collaborate with social workers within the framework of case management,
-
Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions,
-
Make referrals to relevant services (healthcare, education, social protection, etc.) when necessary,
-
Provide professional assessments and conclusions.
3.3. Work with Parents and Caregivers
-
Organize parental counseling sessions,
-
Facilitate group meetings aimed at strengthening parenting capacities,
-
Support the improvement of parent–child relationships.
3.4. Preventive and Educational Activities
-
Conduct activities on mental health, violence prevention, emotional intelligence, and conflict resolution,
-
Participate in educational and developmental programs organized by the Center.
3.5. Documentation and Reporting
-
Maintain case documentation in accordance with the organization’s internal procedures,
-
Submit monthly and other required reports,
-
Ensure confidentiality of data and adherence to ethical standards.
4. Required Qualifications
The candidate must have:
-
A higher education degree in Psychology (Master’s degree preferred),
-
At least 2 years of professional experience working with children,
-
Experience working with vulnerable groups, including children in socially difficult situations,
-
Experience working in multidisciplinary teams,
-
Excellent command of Armenian (knowledge of Russian is an asset),
-
Basic computer skills.
The following will be considered an asset:
-
Experience in the child protection field,
-
Experience working with trauma,
-
Knowledge of group facilitation methodologies,
-
Relevant trainings and certifications.
5. Duration and Working Conditions
-
Duty station: Martuni Children’s Day Center
-
Type of engagement: Contract-based
-
Duration: Within the framework of the project (initially 12 months, with possible extension)
-
Working hours: As defined in the contract.
6. Supervision and Reporting
The Psychologist reports to the Center Supervisor and the Program Management.
All work shall be carried out in full compliance with the project’s Child Protection Policy and ethical standards.
