The “Armenian Association of Social Workers” NGO organized an info-session in Kotayk Marzpetaran (regional administration), to present a new three-year “Promoting Social Inclusion and Self-Reliant Livelihood Activities in Armenia” Project acting in the field of social protection and discussed opportunities for cooperation in Kotayk Marz.
The series of regional meetings of the “Promoting Social Inclusion and Self-Reliant Livelihood Activities in Armenia” Project was launched today. The first meeting took place at the RA Armavir Marzpetaran (regional administrations).
The representatives of the Project discussed with the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia the course of a number of Project implementation activities.
The Project supports the design and implementation of a structured social case management approach in RA that can serve as a tool to enhance the internal cohesion of services and benefits in the country’s social protection and labor system.
The Armenian Association of Social Workers (AASW) is contributing to the increased resilience of conflict-affected populations in five regions of Armenia (Syunik, Vayots Dzor, Tavush, Kotayk, and Gegharkunik) as well as in Yerevan. The AASW is undertaking this vital work within the framework of "REACT: Relief and Early Recovery for People Affected by Conflict in Armenia" project which is implemented by the PIN and funded by EU humanitarian aid.
The new three-year Project implemented by the Armenian Association of Social Workers aims to create opportunities for vulnerable families. Today, at least 700,000 people in Armenia live below the upper poverty line and the Project is expected to improve the quality of life of more than 11,000 of them and bring reforms in the practice of social work.
